Breaststroke

At Sailfish Swim Academy, we teach the breaststroke technique in a progressive manner, starting with the basics and moving towards advanced techniques.

  1. For basic breaststroke,
    We emphasize proper technique for the breaststroke kick, including the W-shape bent, kick, close and glide, followed by breaststroke pull with correct hand timing.
  2. We also focus on developing good arm and leg coordination, to ensure proper execution of the stroke.

 

As students progress to advanced breaststroke,

  1. We teach them to incorporate a full glide after every kick, with their body in an up high position while breathing.
  2. Additionally, we work towards students being able to glide every stroke for 4 laps, which requires a high level of stamina, endurance, and mastery of the breaststroke technique.
