Terms of Studentship

All classes are held once a week, except for competitive classes.

We understand that students may sometimes be absent for personal reasons. Replacement classes are available for certain classes. Replacement classes are available for students enrolled in Baby-Parent Class, Preschool Class, Kids Class, Adults Class, Private Class, and Special Needs Class. Replacement classes are offered to students who inform the coordinator at least 24 hours before their scheduled class. In the case of unforeseen circumstances where this 24-hour notice is not possible, guardians (for minors) or students (for adults) may discuss the matter with the coordinator. Approval for exceptions is subject to management’s discretion. Students who are eligible for replacement class may schedule it within 60 days before or after the missed class, with the condition that their student status is active on the day of the replacement class, and subject to slot availability.

For students who are unable to attend class due to illness, a replacement class will be granted upon submission of a valid medical certificate, with the condition that the replacement must be completed within 60 days after the missed class.

Monthly fees must be paid at least 14 days before the first class begins. Failure to do so will result in the slot being considered unconfirmed, and availability will no longer be guaranteed.

Sailfish Swim Academy reserves the right to deny entry to any student whose monthly fees have not been paid.

All fees are strictly tied to the individual student they are paid for and are non-transferable to any other person.

All fees paid are strictly non-refundable.

In the event of thunderstorms, Preschool Class, Kids Class, and Program Belajar Berenang will proceed in the form of Land Training. This is designed to improve muscle memory and support stroke correction. Classes will not be cancelled to ensure that committed students continue to receive consistent training.

During the rainy season, if students attend more than 2 hours of Land Training in a single month, an additional free swimming class will be provided either within the same month or the following month.

For Baby-Parent Class, Adult Class, Private Class, and Special Needs Class, the class will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms. A replacement class will be provided and can be arranged with the coordinator.

Classes will proceed as usual on public holidays unless an announcement is made. Please refer to the Sailfish Swim Academy calendar for planning purposes.

Swimming lessons involve inherent risks, and all participants should be aware of the potential risks involved. Our instructors take every precaution to ensure the safety of our students, but accidents and injuries can occur. It is the responsibility of all swimmers to follow safety guidelines, use equipment properly, and inform our staff of any medical conditions or concerns that may impact their ability to participate safely. Swimming lessons are not a substitute for adult supervision, and parents or guardians must always be present and attentive while their children are in or near the water.

While we strive to provide a safe and hygienic learning environment, there is always a risk of contracting water-borne illnesses, especially in shared swimming pools. Any damage caused to the pool by students will be their responsibility to pay for. Sailfish Swim Academy does not assume liability for any such damages incurred. We recommend that all students follow good hygiene practices and avoid the pool if they have any symptoms of illness.

Sailfish Swim Academy cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen personal items. Upon enrollment in our program, you agree to assume all risks and release us from any liability for injury, loss, death, or damages that may occur on our premises, including our center, adjoining lands, buildings, and car park during lessons.

Our curriculum and teaching methods are based on industry standards and best practices, but individual results may vary depending on factors such as age, physical ability, water adaptability, trauma experience, willingness to socialize with strangers, and prior experience. Generally, the expectation for 7 years and above to complete freestyle and swim independently is half a year. After 2 years, he/she should have completed all 4 strokes and be ready to join our competitive program. For 7 years and below, half a year will be spent to complete safety and self rescue, then, we will focus on teaching them to swim independently. After 2 years, he/she should have completed all 4 strokes and be ready to go for novice competitions. We do not guarantee any specific level of skill or achievement, and students should not expect to progress at the same rate as others in their class.

Parents and students are responsible for providing their own swimming gear, including but not limited to swimming diapers (for infant classes), swimwear, goggles, and kickboards. Sailfish Swim Academy is not obligated to provide or borrow any swimming gear to students. Students who arrive for their lesson without the appropriate swimwear may be unable to participate in the lesson, and no refunds or replacements will be provided in such cases.

We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or combine classes at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, such as pool maintenance or instructor unavailability. In such cases, we will make every effort to notify affected students in advance and provide alternative options.

Sailfish Swim Academy reserves the right to refuse service or to remove any individual from the premises for inappropriate behavior, including but not limited to, disruptive behavior, verbal or physical abuse, or failure to follow safety rules and guidelines.

Students consent to the use of images or video footage taken during swimming lessons for promotional, marketing, or training purposes. Sailfish Swim Academy reserves the right to use such images or footage for any purpose without compensation to students.

Any personal information collected from students or parents will be kept confidential and used solely for the purposes of managing their enrollment and progress in our program. We will not share or sell this information to any third parties without explicit consent, except as required by law.

This disclaimer and our terms of studentship are subject to change without prior notice, and it is your sole responsibility to keep up-to-date with any modifications. By continuing to participate, you agree to accept and comply with the latest version of our disclaimer and terms of studentship.

By enrolling in the Sailfish Swim Academy, you acknowledge and agree to the above disclaimer and terms of studentship.
